Easily as good as many LP standards I've played. And 300 bucks. I'm a strat guy, the custom I have is my uncles old one, my brothers and I each use it from time to time. That Agile isn't an LP but is a helluva nice guitar for the money. Pickups are really nice PAF style. I might take the plunge on another 5153 50 but this time I will send it to Jens Kruse for his Stealth mod. My last one was very unimpressive, sterile. No matter what tubes I used.

Agree. I keep hearing about this Kruse mod. I'm gonna have to look at some clips. Everyone is saying that its pretty good.
I just don't want to go down that mod road again.

Blades hypocrisy is stunning. He posted so much crazy and insulting stuff. He ripped on every amp builder you can imagine, and said they are thieves for ripping off Jose. Another one of his main rants was that the other amp builders were also thieves for charging as much as they did. I remember him saying, "mark my words, no blades amp would ever cost as much as those other thieves, mine will be much less." So, what he literally spent 3 years ripping on everyone imaginable for doing, he is now doing himself. That BLOWS my mind. After spending all that time and energy ripping Friedman, Fortin, Cameron, and others, he is doing EXACTLY what he said he would NEVER do. He said Friedman was dishonoring the memory of Jose!! One of his main rants was that the builders/mod guys were reaping the benefits of a dead mans circuit and how uncool it was. Who knows if Cameron really ripped him off? Blades says that was the catalyst for him building amps. Billy isn't exactly the most honest, or accurate guy when it comes to his rants. When he sold that guy that fire hazard he called an amp, he had every excuse under the sun as to why it showed up like that. So, on every point he argued or posted a rant about, he has now contradicted himself. Just the personal attacks on everyone would have been enough to never want to contribute to his amps. So yeah, his hypocrisy, stupidity, childish and IMMENSELY immature ways are nothing short of stunning. The guy managed to find a way to offend everyone in the entire gear community. I am sure his amps sound good, he took the circuits from Cameron and others. He once again did what he said he would never do. His hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I have a CCV (bought used) and an Atomica I bought from Brad before the whole thing went sideways...my 2 favorite amps I've ever owned.

He's a clown. Even if Cameron did rip him off, no need to rip on others without reason. Most if not all on this forum would never even consider buying something new from him, and used it would have to be damn cheap and then I'd have to disguise it because I'd be too embarrassed. In fact....maybe we should pool some cash and buy a used one cheap, and clone it! Undercut Blades on price point and call it the RigSmasher! Sell them for 1999, have Steve Henning build it and we split the profits! After Steve takes a bigger cut of course...

I thought I read somewhere that one of his first amps that he sold caught fire, and the guy who bought it put it out there because Billy failed to make it right. So in that sense he is a crook.

Got to love Blades threads. They only come every so often, so when they do.. gotta seize the moment.

FYI.. my EVH 5153 50 never caught fire. I feel very safe with it in my home and at practice. A real family man's amplifier. A work of art if you will.

I'm not defending Blades in any way...but if he had one amp catch fire and didn't fix/replace it, yes, he's a crook...but not on the same scale as Scameron, that's a whole other level
