OK, so every once in a while, I see a "Himmelator" video up, and I think to myself, "that's the guy that Blades went insane over." Billy used to go insane over the guys videos, the slow motion facial shots, hair blowing in the wind, and the fake paparazzi trying to take his picture, just over the top 80s style, etc. So, I clicked on this video, and 1 minute and a few seconds in, he has a strange device crafted from metal encompassing his hand. Blades used to accuse him of shameless self promotion and promoting anything regardless of what it was to gain more exposure, so it go me wondering, "what is that thing?" Anybody know? Is it for a medical condition, is it to help you play leads or guitar better, is it to make people associate him with the precision of a robot/terminator because he can play fast and precise and terminate all other guitar players skills?

anyone?

just watched the rest of the video, at one point he takes a phone call, says hello while making a really mean face and then on the screen it says FU BB. So, it looks like they are having a serious youtube/twitter war. truly amazing.

I think it is just jewelry. Like maybe he thought it looked Mad Max with the explosions... ? Yeah I remember he did those Blades vids and then they hated each other. Is Mike a touring guitar player or something? That vid had it all. Ghost lights, explosions, bubbles!!!

Seems like a humble guy.

If someone goes to the extent to slam someone else in their own video, I'd pretty much say said nemesis wins.

But back on topic, yeah, its jewelry, but to me it remind me of those leg braces from Forrest Gump...

Yeah. Got respect for him. Guy can bring it. Robotics and all.

I think Mike toured this summer with a group....Slaughter maybe...Tyketto....?

Heard it in an interview on Hairnation.

Cool tune
Reminds me of a harder Satriani
Yeah good chops - tad too much wankery for me though
Amazing player regardless and yes I am jeolous
I'd rather just see him in front of an amp and his backing band
He's known for his (video) production tho too right?
Didn't know he and Mr Blades even had a falling out
What happened there?

Robot jewelery thing is um....yeah...interesting

Guy is a real George Lynch wannabe... that robot glove is just a future version of Lynch's fingerless gloves.

Guy can definitely play... Better than me sure as shit. Doesn't do much for me in the "musicality" department but he's damn good.

Saw the maXXed Out video too....best part of it is at 1:57:

Christian fletcher started it all! Actually Archibald also, but now Chippa Wilson owns them all.

I met/partied/shared a stage once with Christian Fletcher. Super cool guy. He was playing bass in a hardcore band called Abs0lute and came out to play some shows in Hawaii. They were pretty good. He liked the band I was playing in at the time (1998-ish) and said we would do good in Cali.

I travel all over the world to surf dude, and oversee and fund several shaping businesses. I love surfing more than anything. Used to be a WESC competitor along with all the other comps, and we as "extreme skiers" actually have something else in common - if we're not going to Portillo in the off-months, we surf. Weird eh? And oddly enough, Vancouver Island's "Tofino" district (about a 6-8 hour commute from Whistler along with a ferry ride) has monster waves in the winter, and small mushburgers in the summer. I just don't get on well with wetsuits - but in a pinch, sure, I'll take the seal skin and cold water to get my groove on... But having done the coldwater scene, I found for a couple extra hun, I could fly my ass to the Hawaiian Islands and surf warm water for a couple weeks just the same...but warmer :)

Jon Pyzel, Matt Kazuma Kinoshita, Wooster, Biolos, Hayden (Cox), Darren (Handley), Sir Kingsley........we're all in the same group of nutbars who work the foam and surf to live and live to surf. I'm 1-2 years away (give or take) to wrapping my life up here in Whistler and moving to a tropical environ where I plan on just shaping, surfing, and easy living. Hard to say if my warehouse of amps and guitars is coming with me - depends on the location... Humidity and saline air don't do amps and guitars any favours. But having just come back from 3 years in Costa Rica (to surf) I know what I want to be doing - and I know all too well the golden handcuffs of western civilization are just that - they're fucking handcuffs

Ride on Bro!!! And ya, JJF is sick, but my guy is definitely Toledo - christ they're all good - Medina was so close to getting in there and still has it - but Filipe (Toledo) has been putting in the time. He's going to be John's biggest rival. Also watch out for the QS cats - some heavy talent in there too. And then the free surf scene - Machado is as cool as they get - and the lines that CRAIG ANDERSON :worship: - throws down are just incredible.

So ya, I surf. And plan on surfing daily till I'm dead in the next couple years. It's just that good
