There was a bootleg of Ray singing with Blue Murder. I used to have it, may still do, but if I remember correctly the quality was so craptastic, it really wasn't worth having.

You could tell it was Ray and Blue Murder and that it would have been cool, but not worth listening to more than once.

Jason
I have something that fits that description but it's most definitely Sykes singing.

The Demo boot I have has:

Lady Luck
out Of luck
Ptolemy
Riot
Rockin and Rollin our lifes away.

Not sure if this is the same thing you are talking about or not?

Damn, that story sucks but thanks for sharing that bit of knowledge Drew.

Hey Danyeo, that vid you posted I can hear where some of your lines come from

You lost that Blue Murder jam track tune you did right??? That clip smoked!!!!!

It's floating around somewhere.

But i thought Blue Murder got screwed over because David Geffen wanted John Sykes to pound his cornhole and Sykes, being the man he is, refused. Guess we know why Geffen liked Whitesnake soo much?

Awesome stuff

I remember buying that cassette when it first came out.

That's right, I said cassette

Cheers,
Mike

ATTN SYKES FANS: Screaming Blue Murder has some of his best tones throughout the whole album, I Highly recommend it if you don't have it.

The CD has been out of print for a long time, but the downloads were added recently.

NICE! Downloading it now. Listened to the samples. Especially digging his version of "Still of the Night" (better than Coverdale doing without John IMO) and "Please Don't Leave Me". He even sounds a bit like Lynott when he sings that stuff. Thanks for the link and making my day!

I heard on the radio last year some time that Sykes still talks with Carmine and are thinking on getting back together.

Not true--but good story--where do people come up with this stuff?

I don't know but I'm pissing myself over here reading this :hys:

Sykes and Meniketti are two of the most underrated guitarists ever.
Blue Murder was an awesome band...check out Sykes 20th Century and Bad Boy Live....both are pretty killer.
What's he doing now? Occasional Lizzy gigs. Wish he could get something going on a bigger scale.

What's Dave up to these days? Haven't heard anything from Y&T since "Summertime Girls". Still put In Rock We Trust on from time to time.

Just looked at a discography and there's a lot more than I realized out there. Will have to check it out.

I don't think this is correct, according to his site he left his version of Thin Lizzy in July 2009. His site usually only gets one or two annual updates unless somebody dies. Hopefully the rumors of reforming Blue Murder are true.

The newest Thin Lizzy Lineup is:

Scott Gorham-G
Richard Fortus-G (was Vivian Campbell for a while)
Darren Wharton-K
Brian Downey-D
Marco Mendoza-B
Ricky Warwick-V,G

yeah, right on. I really dig Blue Murder. Sykes always had great tone

It's a given his guitar tone and playing is one of the best. But come on his voice is where it's at! I mean just fricken killer while playing some of the most difficult licks to play and keep killer timing and sing!
