I got to try one of these out today along with the Mesa JP-2C and a Friedman Browneye 100.

Needless to say, I loved the Helios the best of the bunch! Sounded fabulous!

Would love to try one, but cant afford brand new right now.
Used is the only option.
My concern is from all the issues I keep reading about, 1st was the transformer hum, next was the effects loop noise, then I've been told it will pick up radio stations depending on your house power.

I gig a Helios 100. The transformer hum is so minimal its a non-issue.
As far as the FX loop, I solved the noise issue by putting an AT7 in that slot. Totally silent now.
Ive never picked up any radio stations, anywhere. Either at home or on a gig.

No issues with the Helios and not heard of any users having any.
'Tis perfect.

I can't stop this obsessing. Any you guys tracked with it and have a cool song to share? The solo stuff is fine, I'd like to hear some rock/hard rock riffs.

Shot out a Helios with my XTC Classic. The Helios is pure, raw Marshall grunt with a touch of the Bogner thing thrown in. Back to back through the same Bogner OS212, the Classic sounds very similar but bit like a refined/polished recording of the Helios with a better clean.
