is it just me, or does the guitar sound out tune?

Either way, cool comparison.

I really should have done an A/B while I had the modded amp here last week...

oh well.

nice clip steve, i personally like the rev blue the best.

TJ sounds clearer. It sounds like it has kt88's in it. i'd like to hear a comparison with the same tubes.

I think that the blue sounded a touch better for me.

A little advice for future tests, list the speaker, guitar, and pickups used for an additional frame of reference. Also, make sure the guitar is in tune. Otherwise, very well done. I will check out more reviews from you for sure. I usually just stand up in front of the camera with a ton of booze in me and hammer away.

the blue, sounds less fizzy to me, and it sounds a little thicker.

cool comparison
Jet sounds brighter and livelier
Uber warmer and thicker

I had to pause the video for a second...

The spoken part at the beginning sounded like an AM radio broadcast. It made me feel funny.

I'm going to go listen now.

EDIT: I stopped listening. A comparison with an out of tune guitar? Really? :aww:

Yep, out of tune. Sounds like a drop D tuning with the low string not dropped quite enough.
I liked the Rev. Blue a little better.

My Rev Blue sounds a Hell of a lot better than that :gethim:

Maybe because I dont down tune that low and keep it in tune ;)

Liked the Rev Blue better, a lot more low end and a richer sound. The TJ sounded a bit thin. For those who have played both amps, is this indicative of what you'd find (I own a Rev Blue and haven't played a TJ)?

The clip sounds like a fizzy mess... If this was done better it could be pretty useful.

My TJ sounds huge...almost ridiculously so. I've played a Rev. Blue and while it was nice, I preferred some other amps that I played that day. That being said, I would've sold the TJ if I hadn't made the swap to 34's...after that I was floored at how good it sounds...I havent even bothered swapping out preamps yet.

it seems he tuned the guitar throughout the video, so only the first part sounds weird...

btw, i prefer the blue rev in this video. have never tried a TJ in real life but i'm never gonna sell my rev blue :D

Better recording techniques should be used before posting comparison videos, or any videos for that matter, yikes.
