Bogner Uber Ultra gut shot

These large caps should be glued on to with some RTV glue....
That's my thought as well. If I ever got another Uber first thing I'd do is open it up, damaged or not, and put a little line of glue just under the edges of the caps as "preventative maintenance." Here's what it looks like now, kind of hard to see but there's now a line of glue underneath the two big blue cans and on the edges of the black ones to hold them firmly in place. No issues since I did this (although I treat my amps a lot better than the average UPS guy).

I find it hard to believe that two zip ties snapped. But weirder things can happen I guess. Is this photo after you replaced the caps with F&T?
Me too, but it has happened twice. The F&T Caps were already in there, I touched up the joints when I set everything back straight - they looked factory to me, no signs of replacement but I suppose I could be wrong.

Here's my old Twin Jet. Only one of them snapped on this one - this one was a little more obviously shipping damage (shattered the tubes too, you can spot a piece of glass inside the chassis on the bottom left side). I did not repair this one because it came from Guitar Center, and it sat in my house for almost 70 days awaiting their warranty repair or payout and I finally got fed up waiting and took it to my local GC and just flat returned it (which they allowed, and I appreciate).

I definitely blame the packing/shipper more than the amp builder. But I also am just wondering aloud, since shipping woes with amps are so common, I'd probably take an extra step or two to make it a little more resilient to mishandling (especially on an amp that was $3k+ new or whatever). I hope it doesn't sound like I'm trashing on Bogner, I'm a big fan - my Rev Blue gets a huge amount of play time, I love my GF45, and have an Ecstasy on the way. Plus, looks like Bogner noticed the issue too, since the Uber Ultra does not have these huge caps mounted on the board like this anymore - and I'm glad to see it.

Anybody ever see this issue? Probably came from the same drop that sheared off the bolt…

How does it look when you light it up? There is a led strip behind the panel , that looks like it moved but kinda hard to tell.

Regarding the built quality i also wanted to post a clip of the Rev Blue (which i like best out of the whole Uber range), as an example of better construction, but when i see the plastic shafts of the board-mounted pots... The Layout seems to be better than on the Ultra though.

I’d be curious to hear your thoughts. I had a rev blue that I miss dearly, so I’m wondering how the ultra stacks up. I thought the Uber synergy module was killer too

I'm watching my own old Youtube clips at the moment, to get a better idea myself. :D What exactly do you want to know?
I won't keep the amp. It's not of use for me. And i'm a bit disapointed by the internal built. That's of importance for me as well.
The Rev Blue is a bit more organic. Takes boosts better. Hasn't got the all flimsy switches, which i think is a plus.
I used the Rev Blue with a session drummer. Couldn't hear myself. Put it away. Rolled my Marshall over and sold the Rev Blue.
I also don't like channel one of the Ultra. But it depends on what you like and need.
For me it's the 2203 Amp-wise. It does it all and more with one or two pedals if you take your time with it, but it's a tricky beast.
Sometimes i hate it. Then i look at other amps gain. Compare it. But the 2203 wins everytime. What can i do? :D

Maybe the Uber-Ultra just didn't like my guitar and cab. I heard it's very cab dependant.
It might be the perfect amp for your set-up. You'll only know when you play one.

Hard to say.

Hope that this wasn't too much blabla. ;)

For another perspective Ive owned Rev Green, Rev Blue and now the Ultra. The EL34 Ultra is my favorite. I dont have them side by side so take it for what it's worth. The Green and the Blue had a specific midrange I didnt love. The green was more low mid focused where the blue had an upper mid bump then scooped everywhere else. The Ultra with EL34 is more balanced with the right kind of midrange IMO.
