Getting bored with my Ubercab and thinking about swapping speakers (it has the stock 75/v30 x pattern). Has anyone here swapped their speakers for Greenbacks and removed the insulation?
Haven't removed the foam in mine, but I've tried lots of different speakers in it (including a quad of Fane F90's and currently all JBL's) and it seems to be one of those cabs that even with radically different speakers just doesn't change that much in overall sound. My Kerry Wright on the other hand sounds like a completely different cab every time I do a speaker swap (even if just one or 2)
I would guess so too, but haven’t heard it without it. Maybe without I’d hear bigger differences in speaker swapsThanks. I honestly think the foam is a big part of the sound of these cabs.

My Bogner cab with poly fill has a balanced tone with a nice deep tight bass for a standard size cab. I bet it sounds great with greenbacks, mine has v30s.I changed speakers from my Cameron cab that I have poly fil in to my Friedman with no polyf fil. It’s on the back panel like the Bogners. I definitely prefer with poly fil. Tighter bass imo.
