I'm using my EVH 50W (6L6) as my main gigging amp (+vertical 2x12) when I'm not wanting to haul around the Invader+4x12,
but it's an amp of compromises for me too. For one, that plastic-y mid-thing in the red channel (even after toning it down with a pair of 5751's).
Ideally I use 3 (or 4) channels with switchable fx-loop, but since my EVH is the v1 without concentric green/blue channel knobs, there's a compromise there as well.
So, while expensive here (closer to $3k), the Bogner seems like a good alternative...not too big, not too heavy. If the Bogner can add more of the classic Marshall-esque rawness/kerrang, while having enough low-end and gain, it would work great for me. Oh, and a very clean clean channel is always a must for me.
