Not really. Just tells me you're an asshole.

Tweed and a overdrive ? It doesn't get much cooler than that...

Something just seems silly about a uber rich white dude playing the blues.

Like Eric Clapton, SRV? Funny, a metal sludgewipe commenting on what's proper blues.

Satriani pretty much always wears sunglasses, and he doesn't seem to catch grief over it. I'm sure he'd love to have enough hair to slick back, too.

There is no swinging just stating the facts.

lol... whatever happened to that guy?

This is a pretty funny thread...thanks for the afternoon chuckles.

I read that article as well and was pretty amazed. I just wonder if the article quoted the context of the comments correctly, because it really does makes him look bad. Like maybe they left off the part where he says he reported it.

Before anyone slams my thought on this, I'd just like to say:
I'm like rubber and you're like glue
whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.
(it worked in elementary school, still holds true today)

The Tour De Force blurays are amazing. Bought all 4 just for the hell of it and was hooked. Seen him twice in concert now. Amazing guitar player.

Something seems silly ragging on a guy who as a kid demonstrated raw talent, was recognized by some of the greatest in the genre(BB King, Buddy Guy, Danny Gatton to name a couple), taken under their wing and becoming what he is today. And the only reason he's "uber rich" today is because he was smart and owns his own likeness, publishing, marketing and record company. He didn't get railroaded the way the older blues guys did back in the day. It doesn't make him any less qualified to play the blues. Oh and he wasn't rich to begin with either. His dad owned a music store in Buffalo. No millions to be made there. Is the guy a little pompous? Indeed but he put in the time and effort and made it happen.

eric gales who is truly the real deal from day one shits all over this clown whose parents bought him his career
little rich boy-look at the dumble my daddy bought me
this chump is from utca and i know plenty of people that have the 'inside track ' on him - diva
brat

I kinda don't like the stage persona- slicked hair, shades, suit, but anybody that can do this with a Strat is ok in my book. Amazing tone and ripping.

Wow.
This is actually the first video of him that not annoys the hell out of me, with release less note selection, out of pocket playing and irritating vibrato.
I know he is a nice guy, well educated and spoken, a knowledgeable collector and an all around good dude. I wanted to like his stuff but I had to turn it off after 1 minutue. Sorry.
This is great playing, singing and tone. Props to him.

Not knowing who he was, I had a chance to see him live. It was a great show...awesome chops, guitar tone and some good tunes. I don't see why anyone would want to knock him.

Careful guys or there will be a Bonamassa thread ban.

As to him possibly being pompous/asshole/whatever, I don't really care about that too much. There was recently a thread about Nuno being a dick and I don't really GAF. I like his guitar playing and that's really all I ever wanted/expected from either of them. Yngwie was kind of a dick from the jump and it didn't affect my love for his early playing. I don't need life lessons from musicians.

As far as the look? As mentioned, Satch is bald and always wears sunglasses. What about ZZ Top? And then there's Buckethead. Slicked back hair and sunglasses almost seems unremarkable.
