Let me see if I can summarize this in a way that makes more sense. The whole thing stems from when Trump supposedly had sex with a porn star before he was in politics. Then he supposedly gave Michael Cohen money in 2017 to give the porn star for her to keep quiet. The prosecution claimed 34 individual pieces of evidence for their felony elevations to the normally otherwise white collar misdemeanor . They presented their evidence in the form of the 11 payments totaling $130,000. 11 invoices, 11 checks, and 12 ledger entries.

That seems somewhat pathetic to me, but I see why people might not like him for that. Thing is, even if he had sex with a consenting adult 10 years ago, that is between him and Melania imo. I certainly wouldn't call it election fraud. Trump claims he never had that encounter with her and the money to Cohen was in regard to a nondisclosure agreement. Hence the ongoing appeal.
