+1 on ditching the onboard spring reverb. I have a Triple Rec Multiwatt, which did not come with reverb, so Mesa did not feel it was necessary on every model they produced. If you read the description of the spring reverb in the manual you get the impression you could play surf all day with the drippiest sound ever produced by a reverb. In reality, I always found the reverb really lacking. If I want reverb, I get it from my Axe-Fx III or my H90. In fact, I find the spring reverb on both units more authentic than the actual spring tank. As Zen Amps said, I think it is there because of the Fender roots of the Mark series. Except the Mark series has evolved and the reverb is now like an appendix. The reverbs I prefer these days are plate, hall, and others, but never with high gain, maybe for a solo, but not chugga chugga.

I could get my IIC+ RI to oscillate for a couple of reasons. It did have a microphonic tube when it arrived. If you sit too close to the amp with extreme settings, you can make it squeal. Also, I am using a Boss TAE or Fryette PS-100, and both will make the amp squeal if you stand too close to the units. Recently, I tried to make it squeal by just using extreme settings. Volume 1 and treble on 10 caused no harm. However, if I raised the lead drive to 7 or the lead master past 6, I could get the amp to oscillate. I disconnected the reverb tank, and I can set every dial on 10 now with no squeal. I am glad someone figured this out. Just for comparison, I have a Mark III green stripe modded to a ++ by Mike B. I can set every dial to 10 on the amp, and it will not go into oscillation.

I have a iic++ reissue and i havent had no issues, i ran my settings high and it sounds great, i dont think its a widespread issue. Two other guys im friends with has the ++ reissue and they havent had any problems either.

As Randall posted the IIC++ RI is all around better design compared to IIC+ RI.

Could it be the tranny oscillating? Every time I experienced that my wallet was empty and had a sore ass. Fun fact, all trannies leak fluids whether fleshen or of metallurgy.

He literally pretty much rebuilt the whole fucking amp so did he undo everything else he did to know it wasn't a combination of issues? I mean good on him but Damn!
Far from rebuilding the whole amp. But every step I did revealed more an I was able narrow it down. Since there are general rules and best practices for grounding in a tube amp, the input jack rewire was very helpful even if in the end I reverted it back to stock.

I didn't plan another video, but I will put out a part where I optimise and clean-up the mess and you will see a lot more work involved there.
It considerably brought down the noise floor and now there is not even a peep, with the Lead Master on 10 also. Lead dress, grounding and wire management are once again proven to be most important in the behaviour of an amp.

Please do!!

Oh shit I didn't realize it was your video. Awesome tech work and amazed at the job you did tracing it. I assume some amps display the issue worse than others due to component tolerance stack up.

The crazies that will spend so much time on this are not many, hahah!
Yup - tolerances and slight differences in lead dress (depending on who was on the bench that day) can affect stuff like that.
