Hi guys,

So I was experimenting with the BE 100 today in standard BE mode pushed with an EQ pedal. :)

With the BE I'm finding I prefer using the EQ as opposed to my overdrive/boosts to push the midrange harder...

In what instance would you use an overdrive/boost pedal? Just curious...

i used to run my old jcm800 with a boss eq... was a necessity. sounds great man.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Just to be clear I'm *very* satisfied with the base BE voicing and all the other voicings/gain stages in the amp!

Boosting is just an alternative to the additional feature set in the amp.

I'm just adding some sauce. :)

Sounds great! I really liked hitting the BE with a clean or mid boost when I had it. The BE, SB and JJ all take boosts really well.

Really low volumes, and in the case of the Boss EQ boosting the midrange for an old school 80's type of tone. Also the strings feel a bit more liquidy under the fingers with a boost.

Of course with some volume going on it's not nearly as necessary. And the HBE mode sounds great as well it's just an alternative really. :)

If you love the base tone of the amp and want to sprinkle some sauce on top, it's worth experimenting with imo.

In what situation would I *not* recommend a boost?

If you feel you need to boost the amp to "fix" it and you're unhappy with the base tone/voicing of the amp.

That's where I personally draw the line, and would move on to other amps in that scenario. :)

I see in the video the partial of the Soldano SLO 100. How would you compare that with the BE 100?
