Cut back on the high knob on the HM2, not too much though, just enough to be able to hear the notes. Entombed and Dismember didn't really dime all the knobs like everyone thinks.
I fucking loved my HM2 when I had it. It had the nastiest, grittiest, meanest old school death metal tone ever. It was so obnoxious that it ruled. I wish I would have kept it, but I sold that fucker for $100+, so I can't complain.

Holy shit. I was literally jamming my HM-2 into an old Boss GX700 and a Marshall MonoBloc this afternoon. As was stated above, the closest I've gotten to the old Dismember, Grave and Entombed tones was actually with pure Marshall volume, not with the HM-2 knobs all dimed. I'm talking ear-splittingly loud Marshall power and then the HM-2 set like this (in clock settings
Level - 1:30
Low - 1:30 (this knob can flub that tone real quick)
High - Nearly cranked....contrary to what some say, this knob really drives that old Swedish tone.
Dist - Nearly off....just adds noise.
