So I decided that there is no better place to show me getting some "first sounds" than from the inside of my Dodge RAM! It has a power outlet so why not?
The good (so far
• Packed better than some $4k boutique amps I have seen
• Pretty light
• Feels solid (doesn't feel cheap at all actually)
• Simple to use
The bad (so far
• The boost as it lives is too much gain. Goes from none to too much instantly
• Noisy as hell with boost engaged and the channel gain anywhere near noon
I have to say, it was REALLY easy to dial in good usable sounds. (Easy to dial in not-so-good as well) and I mean usable in the sense that I'd be happy to use them in front of people and not feel embarrassed! In person, it sounds as good as any other digital amp I have tried. Also, keep in mind, this is an iPhone capturing the internal 5" speaker!
Is it the AX8? NOPE!!! Does it need to be... NOPE!!!
Anyway, a thorough play through vid to come soon!
EDIT:
Check out the 9:00 mark. I like this sound a lot and then you can hear the Lead channel cleans up well with volume knob.
