how do the ME and Nova systems rate against the individual pedals

I can't speak for the boss me, but I've owned gt 8 and 10 and they are terrific and extremely flexible. Nova sounds very good, but is much more limited. I might be mistaken, but I believe the nova pedals have a little more in the way of parameters and options than the system, if I am remembering correctly. The nova system does what it does very well thoug, but I think the tc reverb is really weak.

I've never been a big fan of having multi-FX units. I think their value is found in the fact that you can run banks of FX, so that you don't have to tap dance, but the drawback is the quality of the FX. I've never really liked the sound I've got out of the multi-FX units. It's hard to describe, but it's like the multi-FX are missing the depth and "tuneability" of the individual units.

I've owned several boss pedals over the years, and I just started getting into some of the individual TC pedals. The boss pedals are still going strong, and I've never had one fail. As of right now, I like the TC pedals more than the boss pedals, and have been in the process of converting them over. The editable toneprint software allows me to make any toneprint pedal whatever I want, and the fact that they're true bypass, I really like them.

I have a Nova and a GMajor 2, plus a box full of old stomp boxes. With the Nova, I found that the delay and reverb are good, it's transparent, but everything else is subpar IMO. I don't care for the switching, it's designed to have one bank of effects that you turn on and off like stomp boxes. I have the pedal that allows you to change, but it's so poorly designed that half the time you don't end up with the bank that you wanted.

The GMajor is better, the same delay/reverb, but the functionality is so much better.

Individual pedals sound way better when it comes to modulation: chorus, phaser, flanger, rotary, etc...Can the audience tell, I don't know, but I can hear it.
