Greetings ...
I'm new to this forum ... I have purchased a TAE and I'm finally getting around to ordering my Mojotone ISO Cab. But, prior to flipping the coin their way, I'd like to ask a few questions to the pro's on this forum ... But first, the intended rig I'm putting together;
I'm actually doing the reverse of what these things were intended to do (to some degree). Most folks run a 50-100 watt head into the TAE and from the TAE to their speaker cab and adjust the volume for the tone they've acquired from cranking the snot out of their large amps.
I'm going to be running my (cranked-to-the-sweet-spot) 57' Custom Champ into the TAE for the Layla album tone ... what my intention is, is to amplify that tone and sound, once acquired form the 57' Champ, through the TAE. Nothing like a 100 watt Champ!
Now, here's the gist of this post ... I'm wanting to know what is the MINIMUM wattage of speaker (it's a dual 12" ISO cab) do I need to accommodate the 100 watts of SOLID STATE amp juice coming out of the TAE. I'm somewhat confused to the correlation of SOLID STATE WATTS VS. TUBE AMP WATTS for choosing a speaker wattage ... if it were a cab just for a Tube Amp, I get it, and understand what needs to be done.
I'm not asking to get my tone (I've got the knowledge for that) ... just what size (wattage) of speaker do I need. Would a couple of AVATAR 50's (I like buying American and British products) work perfectly or am I going to need more wattage rating on the speakers ... I'll choose the recommendations provided here, based upon what I want for a speaker pushing the air. Just the wattage recommendation would very, very cool guys and gals.
Thanks for your time and everybody stay healthy
