Boss Waza Craft G12W Speaker

Pointless thread of the day:
Has anyone actually tried this speaker, let alone for anything besides the Boss Katana? There's so many Greenback clones on the market that I can understand why there's not much interest in these. But I was honestly curious if anyone has tried this speaker with a tube amp. And if so, I'm interested in hearing a clip.

I was wondering this the other day, I stumbled across them and was curious on how they sound exactly. Tried to find some sort of demo of it being used in a non-Boss amp - No such luck!

Yep, exact reason I made this thread. Weirdly enough it seems some people have, the first review on Sweetwater is a guy who changed out the speaker in his Carvin cab.

I have one in my gen 3 artist combo. While I haven't played a tube amp thru it (no more left), I did compare it to a wgs et65, a retro 30, and a genz benz speaker that came from a g flex or something.

All semi closed back cabs too.

At the same amp settings, the waza was louder than the others. It had way more bottom end (could be the artist cab?) than the others. There was just this overall fatness that stood out, no contest.
Its less sparkly/tinny, alà greenback, but that could be due to the increased everything else.
The extra body is sorta like having a 4x12 inside my 1x12, if that makes sense. Same thickness.

I got an itch to try different speakers today, fully expecting to swap to the et65.
I cleaned everything up, with a new found respect for the waza.

I used my 112 Katana Artist Gen 2 as a Cab for my Lynx 50 before I got a Bad Cat 212 cab for it.


It sounded pretty amazing totally recommend a 212 Waza Cab for anyone interested. Pretty much just like a bigger, badder yet still vintage sounding Greenback. Fucking amazing if you ask me and this speaker doesn't get enough praise.
