Both sounded great  , I will be first and say I preferred the "Modern" clip though, everything just stood out a little better to me. Great job, I am sure a lot of effort went into this. Are you guys doing this to pick one for production??

Might just offer them both, we'll see...

Steve

Listened to them quite a bit yesterday. My initial response was modern all the way... and didn't change :D. That said, both sound very, very good to my ears!

Extra :2thumbsup: for Mr. Savage, great playing!

Gain 2 just sounds like a boost pedal was applied to gain 1. It might be nice if it had a little more low end emphasis to set it apart. But if it's meant to be basically switching to a lead tone they probably don't want to be too different from each other. Sounded really nice by the way.

Not sure what you mean? Gain 1 and Gain 2 are controls for the first two gain stages in each amp. Clip 1 and clip 2 Bob did are different preamps in two different amps. Different component values in some places. What are you describing so I understand?

I am guessing he thought both clips were done on the same amp?

Yeah, I guess you're right,,,

Steve

Yeah, I thought gain 1 was 80's voiced and gain 2 was modern. If it's two different preamps altogether then I would want them to sound less alike. Looking forward to hearing more of what the modern can do. The 80's one is already a no brainer. I'm not into the Z tuned wash of modern music but do appreciate a good heavy thump with a nice, fizzless kerang on top.
