Chupacabra with a GT-65 loaded 2 x 12 is magical. (FWIW--My Chupa is 50w).

FourT... Have you ever run your Chupa in parallel with your Gemini?

Nah, I don't have any way of splitting my guitar signal into two amps. Then I'd also have phase to worry about.

Chorus pedal ? You can solder too, so you could build a parallel splinter box, and a phase flip box for the speaker outputs...or a special speaker cable that has one plug flipped.

Yeah I suppose an FX pedal would be the easiest way to do it.

Do you guys seriously crank amps that have lots of preamp gain like this one?

This amp has three modes. One makes the amp behave just like a non-master-volume Marshall. Like a Super Lead. You can also choose to run it just like a JCM800. The other two modes have diode clipping. And they both drop the volume of the amp. So you need to compensate by running the master much higher. If you run the amp with diodes off... then yes... you would crank the sucker loud. Just like a Super Lead. And the amp will put out way more than 50 watts...

I guess I haven't looked at the layout diagram of these Ceriatone amps close enough. I didn't know it could be run with parallel (rather than cascaded) inputs or that it has a bypassable master. Or am I misinterpreting your post?

Yeah, you're misinterpreting my post. It's single input. You can run it like a non-master volume amp like a Plexi by:

"Hell yeah! To get the sound of a classic Plexi, try the following: Set GAIN 2 around 9:30. Set BRIGHT 2 to
middle position. Turn RESONANCE all the way counter clockwise. Set TREBLE, MIDDLE, BASS, and
PRESENCE to taste. Turn BRIGHT 1 to far right position. Turn up the MASTER all the way, and use GAIN 1
as a traditional channel volume on a non-master volume Plexi. Make sure your school boy uniform is clean."

-Ceriatone Manual

FourT6 is spot on with the bright switch advice. I had a couple different Chupas in my possession for awhile (one with Mercury Mags and one with the stock iron) and both killed!

At the moment, I have 1 greenback and 1 WGS et65 in my cab.

Then the power handling of your cab is 50 watts: http://celestion.com/speakerworld/guita ... _Handling/

How does that speaker combo sound? Never tried an ET65 but I hear they are close to the G12-65.

Sorry, just saw this. I think it sounds decent with my DSL. I'll give this combination a shot when the Chupa arrives. If not, I always have the Greenback that I can put in the cab.

BTW, I've been reading about a lot of modifications that people have done to these amps. Have you modified anything on yours?

Yeah I've built 4 of these so far, all with different mods. I built one to have the aggression of the Chupa and tight low-end of the Yeti. I've built one to be closer to how Cameron voices his. And I've built two others with various tweaks to how I like it. These amps are super easy to mod.

Wow, I'd love to know what you did. I wish I knew more about this stuff.

Now it's not scheduled to be delivered until next Wednesday. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning haha.

I've never played the amp, but in my opinion it is the best amp name of all time. I could never buy a Yeti, since "Chupacabra" is so much cooler.

It would have to go to 11! See what I did there?

We should suggest Nik to call Demogorgon the new Cerberus, would be much cooler

Do have the info on the tweaks that you did?

I do, but not giving it away. These are easy amps to tweak. Just read up on what everything does and voice it however you'd like. Otherwise, I have a few amps for sale, but they are more expensive than one from Ceriatone. You don't have the amp yet. So I would play it. Get used to it. Do that before you think about modding the thing :)

Just do some research into how the different parts of the circuit work. For example, the tone stack. What the slope resistor is and what affect changing its value has. Same for the tone stack treble cap., PI output caps, grid leak resistors, etc. How changing the bias of a gain stage does what it does, etc.
