I did, when he pulled the shit on me.. Look where it got me.. He's still at it.

Had the same thing happen with another Reverb store on another amp. Got the runaround for a week, and finally told them to stick it. Got Reverb involved in that one, and that's when they told me "drop-shipping is not allowed", and against their policies. That store is still at it too.

SO I was buying this from a guy who works in the "Guitar guru" network on reverb. From what I can tell these are guys who don't have a store but are factory dealers of name brand gear through this network.
I was trying to go pick it up yesterday and he basically blew me off.
So I texted him last night and set up a pickup today.
I just got a text saying that he went by his warehouse to pick it up and it was badly damaged and wouldn't function.
He says "good news I'm getting more next week". F##$ him I don't like being blown off and I don't like waiting. Also, he said he was having a problem with UPS damaging a lot of his merchandise. So I'm not inclined to wait a week and get "hey it's busted again."

That guy screwed me on Reverb. I bought a Friedman Runt 50 from them, and he didn't actually have the amp, (showed 2 in stock). He then said he'd drop-ship one from California in "a couple weeks" I told him to stick it, and waited 4 days for a refund. Fuck them. Fucking liar is what he is.

I've had several purchases on Reverb that went like this. People post stuff as "in stock", when all they do is drop-ship. Reverb claims they don't allow it, but they certainly don't enforce it.

Sounds like they lied to you. They probably don't have the amp and fibbed about it being damaged.

he still shows the Skill 30 as "available". I know he doesn't have one in stock but I guess he does have some "available".
I actually overreacted a bit due to the fact that I've had pneumonia for the last 8 days and was on mega steroids and had no sleep.
BUT I don't see why these guys don't understand that when someone buys something online they want it shipped NOW. Everyone I know is that way. So when I sell something (and I'm not a dealer) I go out of my way to ship it immediately or if I see I can't I let the person know ahead of time what the shipping time frame will be.
It also irritated me that USPS showed the shipping label being created at a kiosk. So he stopped at a kiosk and created a label so he could get paid.

Then I got a text from him today. He has seen this thread. The text I got said
"before you hear from my attorney I'd suggest you not proceed"
I sent him a laughy face. that's just hilarious on a whole new level

I'm done with Reverb because of this. Chicago Music Exchange does the same thing, and they own Reverb. Exact same thing. No point in reporting these sales to Reverb (I tried to report them as "Fraud" but it said "you don't have permission to do that"), just go straight to Atlanta BBB and FTC.

I don't think he got this far without help. My guess is that CME (who owns Reverb) was doing this, and people decided to look elsewhere. If CME has somebody running the same game under a different name, it still works. I took it to the FTC. Reporting fraudulent sellers only works if the marketplace isn't run by the sellers. FTC can correlate similar claims and connect the same behavior, and come to the conclusion that either Reverb is allowing fraud, or flat out participating.
