Bought back my modded USA Strat; anyone else done it too?

man I hated that thing. But it sounded the best in it, so I left it - and so did all the owners between when my last friend had it, and when it was found in the pawn shop. I can just imagine one of the anonymous owners trying to put "normal" strat pickups in this guitar and being flabbergasted.

It just really rings so loud, and resonates (even acoustically) so true, that any passive ceramic pickups are literal icepicks in this guitar. I forgot to mention - in the KH set, the 85 was switched to the bridge, and the 81 to the neck. (and it was STILL like this when i got it from the pawn shop!!!!)

That's EXACTLY the influence for this type of guitar. It just screams, and it is made for playing metal - despite being a strat. Sometimes the guitar tells YOU what it wants to do.
