The red Strat-bodied guitar has a lot of tricks up its sleeve as well. How many professional players have used the same guitar for that many years in a row?

Hello, is this thing on?

Saying a guitar has a lot of tricks up its sleeve =/= actually describing what the trick is   :D

That guitar was a work in process for many years. My point was that his tone was about a lot more than just a certain brand of amp. The guitar, external EQ processing, amp, etc... was all about a total package.

I have both star licks videos for brad and jeff. They were using 2 or 3 mark IIbs in a rack along side of a chorus module, delay and the rocktrons were noise gates.

The weird jack with the switch on Brad's guitar is actually a Nady wireless transmitter built into the guitar. it has a toggle switch and an led on the base plate.

I saw Night Ranger last year and Brad had the same strat and was using a Mesa Boogie Mark V and had a soldano in a rack. Joel had a 5150 3 rig.

Doesn't look like it's been brought up, but that red strat he is playing has an Alembic Stratoblaster boost built in to it. Note the strange output jack plate on his guitar. That will definitely play a big role in the sound
That's a switch for the built-in wireless...there's no boost.
