British High gain/modded marshall multi channel amps.. Help!

So i'm not really loving my PT-100 anymore, i've retubed it, swapped speakers, guitars, pickups, everything. It's just not sounding the way i wanted it to. The gain channels are a little to grainy and modern sounding, and there is a weird high end freq that i can't dial out. So i'm cutting my losses and moving on.

So what are some good amps similar to the PT100?
2-3 channels
Good fendery cleans
modded marshall inspired gain channel(s)
FX Loop (instrument level)
Gain and or Master volume boosts

Amps I am thinking of:
Carol Ann Triptik
PWE Event Horizon 3
Friedman BE100 (can you switch internally between BE & HBE now?)
Elmwood Modena M60/M90
Cornford mk50 mkII
Bogner XTC 101B or 20th anny XTC
Voodoo Amps V-Rock or Hex
Henning Cherry Bomb

What else is out there?

I am really loving the clips of the Triptik right now....

Get an early 80s JCM 800 2203 modded by Dan Gower with a clean channel added. For my money, the best Marshall sound I've ever heard (along with a HBE).

Just picked up a Carol Ann OD3 and I'm mighty impressed with it. Clean is killer and so are the gain channels.

Out of curiousity, what kind of speakers are you running the PT through? What are your settings? I've got a PT and didn't gel with it right off the batt but once I found the right settings I'm loving it. Greenbacks or scum backs help a lot.

Greenbacks, creambacks, v30, g12h-65, v30/g65 combos.....

I have had mine for about 10 months or so..

Gain channel settings: Bass 5 Mid 7 Treble 5 gain1 5 level 4 gain2 7 level 4.5 whomp nuetral (0db) presence 5

When I kick on channel 3/boost, it is kind of woofy and bassy, not tight, don't like the high end

I think Steve has a Killer Kali ++ for sale on the forum.. switchable gain stage and volumeboost. Basically makes it do the things a two channel amp does.

Guess it's just not for you then. My setting are similar through a Marshall AX cab but I run the whomp in the middle. I have noticed the PT is sensitive to pups/guitars, but I'm assuming you've already tried a variety through the it.

Yea ive played my strat and charvel thru it, swapped pups BKP's,SD, dimarzios etc..

If you're looking for something a little smoother go demo a Bogner XTC. Not exactly a marshal type sound but since you said the PT was grainy I think you'd like the XTC...

DSL 50's are dirt cheap used and they have three channels don't they? I have enough Marshall tones or else i'd pick one up.

Apparently Suhr is working on a new PT sig amp that addresses all of my gripes with the current 100W head.... and adds some new goodies.. things just got very interesting lol
