Meh. They may have great tones in them, but their layout and design choices are fucky. I think half the shit on that trem o verb was some kind of accident. "When you're on this channel in this mode the presence from BOTH channels affects the sound! Cool, right?" The fuck is that? ? Lol No. It's not cool lol
TBH if i was sure the pink taco would sound great at TV volumes i would just get one of those.
I have loved freidman's amps since day one but have not been able to afford one
Most seem to say the PT20 has to be turned up to sound good?

Dunno. I played one thru an evh 1x12 cab. Quiet, loud, in between. I didn't much care for it. Maybe it didn't get along with the h30 speaker, but I couldn't dial out the nasal sound. If his amps are your bag, you'd probably dig it, but it wasn't for me. Maybe it likes v30 speakers better

YES! The whole "The presence on the Orange Channel affects the Red Channel when in Modern Mode" thing is an OOPPPS! It's a "Feature".

Yes! Feature lol

He doesn't like any of them HAHAHAHA!

I know where he's coming from though. They lack the punch of 50-100 watts. It's no subtle.

I only use 100 watters with the band,
at home it is insane to have that much power and play the amp below 1 on the master, and i hate the small practice amps like the yamaha thr10,
and some others on the market.
I do a majority of my playing away from the band at home alone so i need a good sounding head
for it. the EVH 50 watter and even the LBX(had noth at once) did not sound very good to me unless pushed.
Plus i have a spare 2x12 splawn that feels lonely. :D

The lbx sounded good through the 1x12 cab. I haven't played many low wattage amps to be perfectly honest. I like the depth and fullness of a bigger power section. 50 watts is as low as I'll go.

at home by yourself?
I can not get the 50's and 100's to sound right unless i push the master on the them.
I was disappointed in the EVH LBX because i thought for sure that would be the one but not quite
sold it after a few days.

Unfortunately for me i have to play at like TV volumes at home. :bleh:
For a while i before i got the EVH 50 watter i was using a old MIJ zoom 9030 half rack with a set of quality phones but that sounds like ass compared to a tube amp.
the only plus for that was i could play anytime cranked up

I was using an 11 rack for a while. Was cool at first. Then I quickly tired of it and went back to my real amps.

I've found out something common to most amps I've played. They rick cranked, obviously. And they can sound really cool at mouse fart, but there's a spot in between on the volume where it doesn't sound so great. Each amp has a different spot where this happens.

I have a Pleximan. For the price it's pretty hard to beat

Yes it is a great sounding amp but there are no real good heavier demo's of it
I liked the vids i seen but they were all more moderate gain levels.

Very true!

I was in the same situation recently, and I actually just played the PT last week at our local GC. It does hold up well under low volume, as does the Mark V:25. I'm sure the Pleximan will, as well, especially since you can run it in 5 watt mode. Don't think you will go wrong here, I think all three flavors will do what you need them to do.

Let me see if I can dig one up. It can actually get pretty high gain

I like the V 25 a lot. Sounded quite massive through a 4x12 with the band as well.

It's just so damn versatile that it's hard for me to think of a better amp for the house.

Hey thanks that definitely helps my main question.
So the mesa would be the most versatile hands down but i seem to really favor the actual tone of the freidman or at least what i have heard on YT.
The Friedman has that grunt to it i really love.

I used my pleximan for 2 shows last weekend. Danish hardcore act. It was lovely! Cut right through, weight almost nothing and louder than both PT-20 and Mark 25

real hard to hear the amp there? shame cause that style is a real test for it.
IF it does hardcore it has some serious aggression to it.
