Impressive stuff - I'm shocked he's being so public and getting away with it without the patented EVH cease and desist...

That frankenstrat build video was really cool to watch.

I guess it's a video of how he makes the guitars, rather than a sale listing / 'come buy one'..

Not really - If you go to his Facebook, which is linked in the video, he is flat out offering to make and sell them, as well as showing "just finished" SRV and Franky clones that he made for customers. There is no question the video is an ad for a business selling these clones. Which is TOTALLY fine with me, just not with EVH...

I made a super super cool Frankenstrat replica about 10 years ago.
Went to sell it on ebay after awhile.
Auction shut down.
Luckily some guy was watching it and we chatted a bit thru email when the auction was going.
He ended up just buying it off me.

Yeah I am surprised as well. Guitars look pretty legit though. Too bad his guitar tones in the vids of him playing sound like a Digitech RP1000...

What kind of price?
He said it cost $1100 +/- in parts, so factor in his time I am guessing over $2k.

It still surprises me that people buy replica's of iconic guitars played by other guys.
Very strange to me. I just don't get it.

He sells 'em for $1500-$2K+ depending on parts quality...

That's not horrible. Even though the body and neck is done elsewhere, the finishing and assembly seems like plenty of work.

I'm in the process of building an EVH frankenstrat, I just think it's a great looking guitar, something to have as a show piece.
I don't think I would ever gig with it unless it turns out really awesome to play, then I might have to repaint it.
I just had an old strat lying around so I thought wtf but I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it.

I'm with you. I would never play a striped EVH or SRV copy in public. I guess it's a cool thing to have in your man cave if your a big fan. I just don't get it.

I agree!!! I don't get it especially the EVH, Warren DeMartini and Lynch stuff. To each their own. It was cool back in late 70's/early to mid 80's to want an EVH striped guitar and I was 11-15 years old during this period!!!!        When I was younger I used to have a music catalog that had the Charvel EVH Bumblebee Striped guitar for sale when Charvel was selling these without EVH's permission and I also wanted one back then.

Amazingly creative dude! Seems to be an artist the way he wields that Xacto!

As the Charvel product manager said to me when he was trying to get me to take on their new at the time Desolation series, "There is no I in buy". Since I didn't like them it didn't mean no one else would. Well... in the case of the Desolation series, they were named appropriately. I didn't fail to mention to him later that there are two I's in "I was right".

But he had a point. People buy all kinds of stuff I would never buy and I am not even going to try and figure it out.
