Buying Used Pickups

I always screw the pole tops level with the top of the bobbin, even on new pickups. I think they sound fatter that way. I prefer used pickups for pricing, but buy new ones if I have to.

I bought an amp once, and the previous owner messed it up by turning the knobs to a position that worked for him.

I couldnt believe he messed with it like that.

I worry about buying used amps because someone might have turned the knobs from factory settings

I sometimes worry about the volume knob getting too loose on my amp if I use it too much, so I just play my electric unplugged most nights

I just bought a set of 12 nickel pole piece screws to completely replace gold plated ones in some pickups I plan to use in my chrome hardware 1976 Gibson Les Paul restoration. I’m sure that would blow the OPs mind ?
