I am looking to use my rev c as a toight amp, real toight like...
I've been checking out the mesa dual recto straight cabs and they're pretty nice, but I'm also looking at the mills afterburner 412b. What do you guys think?
Do mills necessarily need to be at concert volume to be worth it?
I'm open to other suggestions as well but I seem pretty at home with these two, definitely 4x12 straight cab, that's all I know for sure.

There are a few rev c owners on this forum, common guys put out

I have a recto cab,Bogner, and Marshall's with V-30's,but I can't say enough good things about the 100 watt Marshall TV 4x12,kills the mud right outta the gate.

Boogie Stiletto cab (traditional) sounds better with rectos than the recto cab IMO.

I just scoped the marshall and the boogie stiletto, the stiletto is tight, might just be what I end up going with!
Thanks for the info guys

+1 I own a recto standard 412 and a randall xl412. The randall is around the same dimensions as the stiletto/traditional cab. I like the Randall better with my Tverb

I agree totally.

Rectifier Standard Cabinet! (oversized) has always sounded best with the Recto to me.

The oversize straight with slant baffle is what Mesa designed to go with the original recto head, that is what I am getting for my Rev-C that should arrive next week.

Recto = Ovesized. The Recto cab is over-sized by design. There is only one Recto cab, but available in slant or straight. I have 3 of them (straight) here and for a Dual Recto, they are fantastic cabs. The Mills is a little better, if you can endure the wait. The standard cabs are a little smaller and will sound thinner with the Recto.

Go to Mesa Hollywood's website. You can order from there and have a new Mesa cab in a few days.

Yes you are correct Steve but I think Mesa discontinued the straight cab with the slant baffle years ago.

My recto sounds great with my recto cab. I like my randall cab a little bit better. Its tighter. The stiletto cabs are great. especially with rectos. Ironically the stiletto head sounds better with the recto cab IMO :dunno:

Mesa cabs are a little tough to take sometimes. All my old vintage Mesa amps (IIC+, III and IV) sound incredible with the Recto cab. There are many amps though designed around a V30 that will sound like absolute ass through a Recto cab. The big internal volume and speaker choice and the subsequent resonant frequency have a large impact.

Steve can you tell me the differences between the Mills and the OS Recto cab? I don't believe the wait would be undoable for me haha.

I'm currently using a pair of Orange 4x12s. One has V30s and the other has G12Ms (Greenbacks). The pairing is awesome.

I prefer the Recto 4x12 to the Orange 4x12. I find it sounds a little cleaner/clearer than the Orange (V30) 4x12.

I much prefered these over the oversized. They just felt tighter.

Your Recto cab sounds great man ! Im not sure what happened with the one you have but it sounds better to me than any other one Ive tried.

I own a Stiletto cab which is the smaller one and for me it is tighter, clearer, and warmer than the Recto cabs in general but I guess there are a few winners out there.

The Mesa Traditional slant cab is awesome. big and tight....one of the best cabs I've owned. Not sure if the Stiletto trad.'s are the same or not? Look the same, but my old one weighed a good deal more than 99 lbs that mesas site lists.
