Hi Guys

I am gassing big time for a Hagen amp! I just have a little problem. Diezels amps are not sold here in Denmark. However a Hagen is right now for sale. The seller does not have a Diezel cab. I would love to have a 4x12 Diezel cab. I can see from previous threads that the Front seems to be prefered. I don't play metal at all, but rock, hard rock - a little blues and fusion. Would you guys still recommend a front loaded cab or should I go for the rear loaded?

Thanks

either way you cant go wrong...but the FL cabs are the shit!! ive owned both & still have my FL!

Preferences are personal. The Hagen can get a bit of an older school vibe happening with it, if one were to be so inclined; and I believe this is the reason for some cats to have a knee jerk response of older school rear loaded cabs. It's all in what you want to hear. If I wanted to accentuate that older school kerrangy vibe from my Hagen, I'd probably be inclined to go V30RL. But since I know this amp is capable of so much more - I mean, SO much more - than this, I still prefer the flat response, neutral frequency range of the K100 drivers. Slap these in an FL configuration and it's not only sonic bliss, it's f*ckin' thunderous too. I've had a few varieties of the Diezel 4x12, and thus far, the most consistent feel and sound is from my G12K100 FL loaded 4x12.

Just my 2 cents.

Mo

EDIT: I see Papa and I posted at the same time. As per Papa's statement, live situation with cut? V30s for the Hagen. Studio recording? K100s.

Rear loaded with V30s would be my recommendation.
Just my personal preference, but I think DIEZEL RL V30 cab is the bomb - and I, mean Diezel cab. And IMO you get nothing more than a directional difference between the FL or RL cab due to the slight slant in the RL. Difference in punch, tone yahda yahda yahda are all...it's nothing more than direction of noise.

Yet again, personal preference is just personal... Having gigged the older model RL-V30, it was good. Do I like the FL-K100 better? Much. Interestingly enough, for my Bogner 20thA-X, it's a RL-V30 4x12, and I've tried a number of other cabs with it... I prefer the RL in that amp's applications.

Personal preference.

And if I may, recording-wise, K100 all the way, but just personally...
