Best sounding clip of this yet

Thanks bro... This thing makes it easy. I am still blown away at just how diverse the tones the Atomica covers are. And it does them all SO well

Agreed and just proves my thoughts that Mentoneman could probably make a living doing this type of service for amp companies. Not to take anything away from Zack as he is the one with the awesome chops and gear but Mentoneman can squeeze every drop out of a piece of gear with the right tools and players.

Pat and Zach should have checks in the mail via King Guitars :D

this amp is imo as far into high gain id ever desire, yet like ive always said mark somehow manages to preserve clarity and touch dynamics, and has always been the top of the heap to me for modded marshall tone without harshness, off the shelf. i agree with his ear for that sound more than any other high gain guy but admire egnater, vht, diezel, bogner, suhr, and DAR tones-incredible in their own rights.
and i still love my peacemaker for its plexi bark and fatness and similar brown lineage to the atomica.

zach's vh gmw strat played amazingly well. incredibly comfortable string tension and action. and the perfect partner with that amp for the brown sound! even the dimarzio super distortion sounded musical in this config.

i should also include dave friedman and mike fortin in that list of high gain elite

dave has had his input in more monster amp designs than i can remember and mike makes amps breathe fire and if i was total drop Q guy id pick fortin

The first 6 minutes of this clip are my favorite clips of the new Atomica I have heard, by far. With the way Zach has it set, it sounds meaner than what the original Atomica sounded like, but to be honest, I don't think there is really a market for an amp that sounded exactly like the original Atomica. That amp really wasn't mean enough for most players and had zero versatility. It approached early VH tone but wouldn't have been good enough for any other type of tone. It sounds like this Atomica can do VH and every guitar hero tone from VH though Nuno and then can also do more modern stuff.

Hey Zach, is the Peacemaker even an amp you would need or want to own with the Atomica in the house?

Sounds really good, real deep look at what the amp has to offer.

Well... for me, yes, because I would use the Atomica for the VH/Nuno/Gary Moore type of stuff, and use the PM for more classic stuff, which can be juiced up w/ a boost for even more fun, and a twist (As I KNOW you are aware), in the multi-amp rig.

The PM is in it's own right still magical and is it's own thing. I WILL have another.

I have actually gotten the Atomica sounding very "Classic" Marshall sounding ala AC/DC, but used the low input and a different setting on the Gain Style Knob. I imagine this was the voice of the original Atomica. When the amp is set at more of a stage volume, and reducing the gain level this thing really is full of hidden treasures. Chords bloom, the string to string note definition is something that reminds me of the Peacemaker. The notes really do sustain. The Clean tone is VERY nice as well. I REALLY can't say enough about just how surprising this gem of an amp is so far. If ALL it did, was the tone from the 1st part of the video, I'd have still purchased the amp. Cool thing is that the amp is So much more than just that. The GREAT part is that you can get it to do that at whisper quiet volumes (which is why I was compensating with that amount of gain which was at around 2 o'clock). You can literally hear me stepping on the IA switches I was so soft, and it still chirps and sustains like a mofo.

On the low input channel w/ the rotary Gain Style switch in the highest gain setting, it sounds like my Cameron modded High Gain Jose Marshall SLP.

Nice playing!

Did you use the same settings on the Atomica throughout the clip? Where were the gain style and edge switches set? What pickups are in the LP? What cabinet and speakers were used?

Keep on rockin'!!!
