Had a rough time recording this today.
First off, I recorded it with my old Iphone 13 instead of my new Iphone 17, so sound quality might not be as good.
I had to keep switching amps and speaker caps since I don't have a way to A/B them individually.
To make things worse, work kept on texting me so the backing track kept cutting out, not to mention my dog starting to bark so I had to put him in another room.
The things I do for you guys, lol.

In summary, I prefer the Soldano open back with the Celestion G12H-150 Redback with the Soldano SLO-30 and I prefer the Friedman Closed back with the G12M-65 Creamback with the Victory MKX.

You can decide what amp and cab combo you like better and let me know.

I used my Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s as it sounds good with any amp.

Victory MKX though Soldano cab 0:30
Victory MKX through Friedman cab 3:00
Soldano SLO-30 through Soldano cab (without Dispatch Master in loop) 6:30
Soldano SLO-30 though Friedman cab 10:00
Soldano SLO-30 through Soldano cab with Dispatch Master 12:45

SLO/SLO seemed to be the combo. Everything was EQed darker than I would though. Or it might just be the phone.

Where I would expect the open back to be a little weaker is on rhythm stuff.

Even though I in general like M speakers more than H speakers, the M Creamback is really not my thing I don't think. The H Creamback I can deal with a little better. It's efficiency is better too.

The Iphone 13 defintely was not as good, but I tried to eq things as close to noon as possible, so definitely a bit darker, especially the MKX.
I agree, I the SLO and the Soldano cab is the right match.

I do like the M creamback, but it is a bit smooth and dark and takes a lot more power to get to the same volume ans the H speakers.

I am not a huge rhythm guy, so I could live iwth the open back being a little weaker fr chords, but truthfully I don't think it is.

Yeah I think it's probably better to do these tests with "best possible" EQ settings but I understand just wanting to stick it at noon.

The Victory definitely likes more treble and presence.

I love my Friedman Creamback 1x12's. I stack 2, and they punch pretty good.

Honestly the Soldano cab sounds a bit better although both sound good.

Good stuff *_*

Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
The Soldano sounds a bit more open, the Friedman is a little smoother.
The Friedman can almost sound like it has a blanket on it compared to the Soldano, but the Friedman is still my #1 cabinet if I could only have one cabinet.

If you're looking at other cabs too check out Bad Cat 112s, they come in open back with a stock UK V30 or a Proprietary Bad Cat V30.

But yeah man these sound amazing cheers and keep on rocking out and kicking ass brother *_*

Thanks...
I never had a V30 cabinet that I loved.
I should probably try one again, but I know I love the Friedmans with the Creamback.
If I buy another amp, maybe I will try the Soldano Closed back 1x12 with the V30

Yeah the new ones should come with a UK V30 and totally worth it. Also the proprietary Bad Cat V30 is made in the UK and you can get these aftermarket for around the same price of a standard V30 and may be worth checking out if your not into regular V30s. I think the Proprietary Bad Cat ones are undoped and also UK made.

Either way the older Chinese ones ain't bad but yeah these newer UK V30s are great. The RedBack here sounds fantastic and I was looking at this cab too and may get one as it just sounds fantastic. The Soldano stuff is great as well as the Friedman stuff and best part is it's Built in the USA/MIA *_*

If I give the V30 a try it will be Soldano, MIA is a bonus.
