I sent it over to Mesa and they had no idea what it was, maybe someone here does? I cannot for the life of me find anything online like this, kind of fishy.

Any photos of the back?

My guess is that if you email Mesa, they'll answer the question for you. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a knockoff recto pre.

i remember seeing a couple of these for sale somewhere, i think it was a russain builder?

Yep I emailed them and the response was "I have never seen that before." That's what I was guessing, that it's some knockoff.

Here is the backside of it

It's not a real Mesa. Some kind of Russian copy preamp.

I am always interested when I see oddball clones and stuff like this. Like what if it is actually some holy grail sounding piece of gear but it's so obscure that nobody would take a chance on it. Of course on the other hand, it could be a re-housed DOD grunge and catch fire.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, part of me wants to buy it and see what happens. I know I shouldn't, but I'm intrigued..

Very strange , if Mesa didn’t have a clue as to what it was, it’s obviously bogus

Dare I say can you ask for gut pics? I'm guessing they won't, it would just be interesting to see the innards.
