Can I get a sitar sound from a G Major??

I need it for one song :aww:

can you point me in a direction that'll save me a ton of search time?...if it's even possible to get that sort of effect from the G Major. I dont have the unit here and not a lot of time to mess around, if you got me in the ball park I could take it from there :thumbsup:

No.

But thinking about it, maybe some pitch shift, and little tremelo on a crystal clean setting.. I dunno.
 
find a used Dan Electro Sitar Swami pedal. From the reviews it is one of the worst sounding pedals around, which may indicate it can do a good sitar emulation with some tweaking and the right signal chain? Sometimes the issue is the user, not the gear? These should be really cheap too.

Pitch shifters and delays should get you close IMO, can the g-system do key based pitch shifting?
 
I think Vai used the Eventides for that sorta sound... I may be wrong.
