Hey, work is work. No judgement here.
Golf is not work.
It's so crazy that your doctors suicide people.
Exactly, these guys act like doctors are just randomly suiciding healthy young people by the thousands...Watch a loved one living in excruciating pain with some horrific cancer like Mesothelioma, then come tell me how crazy it is to allow them to have a merciful and painless death.
I have lived this. I think it certainly has its place and provides great relief to those who are truly suffering from what eventually will kill them regardless of intervention.
You act like there isn't any "Selling" of this idea by doctors and the government. You can look at the US health care system and determine that insurance companies, healthcare providers and drug companies and the government are evil as fuck and put profit over lives. Yet you think your doctors, government and insurance companies aren't the same ?Exactly, these guys act like doctors are just randomly suiciding healthy young people by the thousands...

They are absolutely prioritizing healthcare depending on age and risk factors and have been doing that since long before MAID. You really think they are doing it to be merciful ? Come on man.
RIP Brian.Well stated.
My friend and former guitar student Brian C died of cancer in his late 20's. A team of 14 doctors over at Tampa General and Moffitt offered their services pro-bono, all of them hoping to make their careers saving a man from a rare sarcoma that is not usually seen in people in the prime of life. Well, it didn't work and he went to a hospice over near Pasadena hospital in St Pete to die. He had a morphine drip at the click of a button, basically as much as he wanted short of an OD, but he wasn't hitting it because he wanted to be cognizant, and present with his friends and family in spite of the massive pain in the final days of his life. So yeah, I'm against medically assisted suicide.
RIP brother

Thanks JD. You would've liked him. Loved metal and was of a bit more progressive mindset like yourself but still a great dude. The whole ordeal was extremely sad. I have some great memories of seeing Buddy Guy at the Bayfront bluesfest back in the day with him. The best show I've ever seen.RIP Brian.

Both my father and my father in law were on hospice at the end and both of them were given a bottle of morphine and a syringe to keep in the refrigerator “ just in case”. My dad ended up in a hospice house for the last 3 days. They basically kept him sedated and comfortable. He had a DNR so my mom and I basically sat with him for 3 days and watched him sleep until he died.Well stated.
