Can people verify if the G-System is the tone sucker ...

Truthfully, for what I use it for these days it may be a bit overkill, but it sounds great. Lately just been using my 335 primarily live and it doesn't need a boost like my strat does and don't really need any of the filter/compression effects so just been running my g system in the loop. Primarily for delay/reverb/and some pitch shifting/doubling effects and have it switching between my xtc's channels and boosts via the relays. I'm sure there are other options to do what I use it for, but one stomp to go between blue channel, no fx to red channel with amp boost on + delay/verb/doubling is a thing of beauty for me. Quick setup as just one cat5 cable between my rack and the floorboard. YMMV but I'm very happy with the unit and was when I used it in the 4cm with pedals in the loops also.

Seems like so much of the tone sucking issues depend on the amp being used. I've got 2 units an original silver that I bought first and now leave at the the studio for rehearsal and a red limited I use for gigging. I use them in a 4 cable setup. When I first got the silver I was using my old 5150 block letter. I had no tone sucking issues, hum or noise issues with this combination. I use a Line 6 G50 wireless into a Crybaby 95Q wah that act as a buffer. I switched to 5150III's shortly after they came out and integrating the
G-System with it was a breeze. I didn't have to change any G-system global settings if I rememeber correctly. Is it a perfect unit? By no means. If there's one out there please let me know. I'm not thrilled that phase and flanger and chorus are in the loop. I would prefer them in front of the amp. But I generally don't use chorus I use the detune +9,-9 setting for my stereo setup. I hardly ever use phase and flange but I have an old script phase 90 I keep in one of the G's loops if I do want phase. I think the delays and reverbs are top notch and that's mainly what I use the unit for. Ditching my rack setup and having everything on the floor is what I dig the most and no more tap dancing is a godsend. 1 button pressing to switch patches, amp channels, on/off of extrenal pedals in loops is awesome. I used a G-Major, GCX and Ground Control Pro before I got the G and I much prefer this set up. But, to each his own. I think the G is a great unit when combined with the right amp. Just my opinion.

I had one and I liked it. It does suck tone, but proper buffering and time programming it can sound good. I wouldn't use it in the studio, but for live it can work great.

Nova System does not suck tone. It does not have all the bells and whistles some of you need, but it is perfect for me.
