I was just looking at my Bogner Front loaded uber kab and can see the the back comes off just like my rear loaded Uber Kab...

Can you just remove the speakers from the front of the baffle and attach them to the rear of the baffle???

It totally looks like this would be possible

Has anyone tried this or know first hand...

I looks you like you can, but before I go deep I wanted to do a asking around.

G.

Why would you want to do this?

There is a reason why they went to a front load setup, for metal it's usually the way to go. If you are playing more vintag"y" type stuff then there are probably better cabs out there than an Uberkab.

I wouldn't do it, could screw up your resale value too.

Interesting that it's not a sealed back cab. In any event, I wouldn't. If you want a rear loaded Uberkab I'd sell what you've got and buy one. There could be more differences in the cab than just how the speakers are mounted.

I changed out the GT-75's in my front loaded Uberkab. It appears to be the standard 4x12 build with removeable backboard but the speaker screws mounted from the front and the front grill velcro tabs for easy removal.

The way I changed the speakers was to pull the backboard off and de-solder the wires to the GT-75's from the back and then unscrew the speakers from the front.

I never tried to insert one of the screws from the back, I would have tested it.

hmmm... I should just call Bagner.

I'm thinking its like no big deal to put the speakers in from the rear...

Be wary of the inserts that hold the screws. If they are T-nuts they need to be reversed to the front of the baffle.

THIS.

Where are those pictures from a few weeks ago, where the guy did that without changing them to the opposite side?
The T-nuts pulled out and the speakers fell into the bottom of the cab......REVERSE THEM.

God damnit, I saw the original "He must think you're in FL' but then it said J/K so I was all excited again...

Damnit Giles... when did you leave? You had a sweet ass setup here? I can't picture you in the cold with your perfectly clean white Jeep

In any case, how much for one of the Bogners shipped to my Southern ass? (I'd say the cheaper more beat up one, but I'm more than certain they are both probably perfectly mint).

PM me duder!

After 13+ years there is was time to get out of there...

High property taxes, high home owners insurance, hurricanes, high car insurance, illegals, thugs, drugs, I was just done...

Nashville is pretty cool, I live in Cool Springs/Franklin about 20 min from the Gibson factory, Summer NAMM and Pearl Drums, lots of music stuff here and NO STATE INCOME TAX
JUST LIKE FLORIDA !!!

Besides I could never afford a nice all brick house in South Florida on an acre of land like I was able to buy up here... The taxes and insurance are just killer expensive down there.

Cost of living is pretty sweet up here.

LOVE that house, and on an acre, even better. I keep thinking about getting out of So Cal... just so expensive here. Would love to move somewhere beautiful, build a nice big wood shop on my property and have at it.

Bob, I'll let you in on a little secret ... there are TONS of former Californians living here in Franklin/Cool Springs/Nashville that felt the same way...

I run into them all the time up here.

The music scene here is pretty big, no traffic or anything like that, pretty therapeutic IMO.

Nashville has one of the best economies in the NATION and real-estate is STRONG.

Just read Forbes magazine on that, below is one of many articles on this place. I have been planning my move for 2.5 years to get out of south florida.

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/bl ... et-to.html

You can buy a decent sub-division style home like mine in Franklin/Cool Springs/Brentwood (The Beverly hills of Nashville) for unbelievable prices.
My car insurance dropped by 65% and my property taxes and homer owners insurance by 60%+.

Again No state income tax here just like Florida... I will take that deal any day of the week... MORE GEAR!!!

You can get lots of places even cheaper if you want, but I went for the nicest area I could find for future resale and nice neighbors that didn't have a meth lab.

I was born and raised in Cali, I lived there 28+ years so I know it can be a really awesome place and all, but that's too much for my blood.

I miss some things about Cali and Florida, but not enough to not want to live where I am at now.

Here is a link to images on google of the cool springs area where I live now... it really is amazing. Come visit anytime !

actually, there's a way to rear-mount using the Tee nuts from front-mounting without reversing or removing the Tee nuts. (i tried to find a pic to post in that thread a few weeks ago but couldn't find one...)

here's the trick:

after you take the front-mounted speakers off, take the bolt or machine screw that was holding the speaker and screw it back into the Tee nut, from the front of the cab, all the way in, until the bolt or screw head hits the front face of the baffle board. (you could slip a washer onto the bolt before you do this, if you wanted to make sure the bolt head wouldn't dig into the wood.)

then, looking from the inside of the cab, you now have a threaded bolt spike sticking up from the back face of the baffle board. and it's held firmly in place because you screwed it hard into the Tee nut. you place the speaker down over the bolts, and screw on washers, lock washers, and nuts. (tightening them slowly and in an X pattern and not too tight, like Scumback guy has described in other posts.)

then you  !

This has me wondering how drastic the sound difference is between front and rear loaded when the cab design is identical and without a sealed back?
