Hello folks, I’m very interested in acquiring a Capture X 8ohm.
It looks like the best bit of kit for recording, and listening to, my lovely old valve amps at home.
However for the occasional live use I’m thinking the 20db reduction of the attenuator may be too much to keep up with a drummer.
So I was thinking that I could use my THD Hotplate (also 8ohm) after the speaker out of the Capture x as long as the Speaker out Volume switch (on the Capture X) is set at Full.
As I understand it….when the Speaker out Vol switch is at full the internal load of the Capture X is not seen…….so my amp, set at 8ohm, will only see the THD Hotplate…...which will enable me to use the extra levels of attenuation (4 / 8 /12 /16) the Hotplate provides…..does this sound safe to you guys?
