I don't understand how you guys can be so picky about delay.
You guys have a delay fetish, control yourselves man!

I'm using an Elcapistan in my FX loop, and the Flashback out front.
Can you elaborate on why you do it this way? It just seems counter-intuitive to me seeing that the El Cap (which I run in my loop as well along with a DD5) would be more suited to being placed out front since that's the way a tape echo would normally be placed whereas a more standard DD is typically more suited to a loop.

That's how i have it hooked up THIS week. Regardless of where it is, i find the Elcap sounds good and I'm not too concerned with how tape echo's were hooked up 35 years ago since i don't think many guys back then had no choice since a lot of older Marshalls never had FX loops.

I may switch it up though.

The delay in my Nova System goes....baaa baaa baaa baaa baaa

Sounds good. :D

my favorite, damage control timeline. by far the best delay that exists. puts anything TC or eventide makes to shame. hard to find cheap though.
That's a pretty bold statement...have you personally tried the El Capistan, Brigadier, and Flashback?

yes no yes.

tube buffered does wonders for keeping that warm tone and no digital sterility or over-processed tonality that eventide's have to my ears.

i wouldnt say it without having something to back it up. i have researched delays for a very very long time and at the beginning and at the end i kept coming round-robin back to a timeline delay.

i would put one against an el-capistan and an eventide anyday.

The same guys from Damage Control make all the Strymon pedals. The Strymon pedals are cool but are aimed at specific things where a Timeline or Timefactor cover more ground. And yes, i liked the Timeline better than the Timefactor.

The new Timeline should be out soon.

Danyeo Jonus should have stopped right here....................

yes i am very well aware of who strymon once was. the strymon pedals seem to be contending against the eventide effects directly IMHO, at least features wise and tonality wise that is what i hear. plus the timeline being MIDI is pretty cool. i still havent found out if the timeline is globablly tap tempo or strum tempo? regardless, tonality wise it's quite versatile and makes my jaw drop compared to others. they did it right the first time, it will be interesting to see whether the new timeline can contend with the original - either way it will still be a digital representation. no tube buffering.

Hey Scott,

i have a eventide timefactor which is pretty much perfect for my line level and parallel loop (thank good ness for killdry) but i really really want to get a TC Flashback or Nova Repeater for a second amp/pedalboard im putting together.

got a DD-7 a couple days ago on a gear trade, only thing i like about it is the 40 second looper. the sounds are pretty good, but i find it a bit to finnicky to get it quickly dialed in on the fly. made this quick demo this morning of 4 of the modes.

a Vox Satriani Time Machine Delay should be arriving soon as well, so if its good ill keep it for delay and use the DD-7 for the looper... or sell both and get the flashback.

Jdub!

Yeah that is Danny boy wailing around on another amp that he wound up selling :D

Bought a small fishing boat that is already in the water, been killing the schoolie Stripers in the CT river, waiting for the big boys to come to town.

Hope all is well bro

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the suggestions. I went with the Flashback (was easy - delivered as promised, done). Brilliant little pedal with no tone coloring. :)

good choice on the flashback- I have the bbe wah also-best wah under $200

Hey guys, I was just listening to the making od Doug Aldrich's tone print over at the TC electronic site.. I have to say, thing sounded damn good to my ears! Straight in the amp and not in the loop which gives guys like me who have an unmodded 800 that i don't want to add an effects loop to, an option. The one thing that struck me is the fact that for fast runs, it has a dampener built in so you don't get that drowned in delay feel when you are ripping up and down the neck. Any of you guys running it straight out front? I run in the loop of my Lynch Box but for my 800 there really is no loop option..
