Just got an email saying Carvin Audio is having a relaunch with new product for 2018

I'm glad to hear that they are back, I loved their audio stuff. The price to quality was unmatched. Hopefully they can keep it going.

i am glad that another long standing usa company is still standing.

maybe they had to do some corporate retructering?

Wonder what direction it will be though. On the page, I don't see amps or anything other than in the clearance section.

I wonder if they were able to restructure.

I’m guessing and could be very wrong, but it seemed like the rebrand to Kiesel was in part to allow wider distribution because “Carvin” had signed some unfavorable distribution contracts that maybe the new Kiesel company could avoid. But that may have left Carvin stuck with it. But distribution rights to a nonexistent company aren’t very valuable, so maybe now they’ve been able to get Carvin out from under those contracts too.

Is the small number of things they're "relaunching" just imported stuff?

"...tube guitar pedals, in-ear monitor systems, wireless microphones, and gig essentials like D/I boxes and power conditioners."

The pa gear was actually really good and way cheaper than comparable systems. I hope that comes back but this looks like it will be small stuff. Hopefully good stuff again

I talked with Joel Kiesel at NAMM, he is running Carvin now. He will not be selling direct, and is looking for dealers. Right now the 2 products he has are the all tube pre amp's, the VLD1, a Steve Vai sig, and a X1-2. I wasn't able to demo them, though. If I remember right he will be shipping them end of May, or maybe he said March..? I don't remember.
