I love it. The build quality and fit and finish is excellent. The fretwork and playability is great, and the sustain is as good as any guitar I've played, bolt-on/neck-through or otherwise. Aside from the low resale value, if you are planning to keep it, I consider them excellent value for the money; I would have to pay quite a bit more for similar quality from a "big" brand.
I have a TL60, and it's killer! I know what ya mean about not wanting a sig guitar. Something about someone else's sig guitar just doesn't do it for me. An LP is about the only sig guitar I can deal with. I'll try to post some pics. Camera challenged at the moment though.
Carvin makes great guitars! Being direct it is hard to try them out. But they have one of the most envied music businesses in the business. Per guitar they make more money since they don't have to discount heavily for dealer networks.
Over they years they have mode more appealing designs like the Bolt and C series.
Love all of mine and always looking for more.
The necks are different depending on the models. The DC have a great thin and fast neck. The carved tops have a bit thicker, more traditional neck.
Bought all of mine used and haven't paid more than $500 for a single one.
The new carved top 7 is definitely tempting me though...
And the new holdsworth looks like a great travel guitar.
