CBS Radio Show from the 1950s predicted future state and behavior of modern women

Divorced, I have my gear. Still date occasionally; no interest in marriage again; but not liking the women I'm finding out there. loud, obnoxious, annoying, masculine, entitled,...looking for a wallet / bailout / retirement plan...basically everything I don't want in a woman...

my son starts college next fall, I hope to retire soon after he's ensconced and set, then take an extended trip to a few places in Asia, some I've been to, some not long enough or in other areas. Southern Japan (Kyushu Island) is at the top of the list, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand...may have to pass on mainland China this time.

When I return, I'll decide future plan...live in Asia part of the year, or get a sailboat and sail/liveaboard in the Caribbean.

I divorced in 2009 and dating after my divorce found the same things you have listed and things have only gotten worse since then since the adoption of dating apps, constant/instant texting, constant social media contact. Modernity is driving behaviors that are not good for a cohesive society and I'll leave it at that.

Agreed.

It's things like this I hear that make me happy I'm not part of the dating world. Got lucky to find a great wife and have been married for 11 years now. As long as all the bills, savings, investments are taken care of she doesn't give me the stink eye for buying gear; half the time she enables it LOL. I'll still ask, but she doesn't care if I crank the hell out of my amps either. I regularly play as loud as my ears can take in the room. The worst of our relationship is getting in each others' way in the kitchen when cooking.
