Seems like mixing 65s and V30s is the ticket, at least for the tone I'm after. The Vs bring the cut and clarity and the 65s round it out with warmth and a chewy feel/sound. I love ampaddict's clips where he uses this combination. Sounds killer with the CCV and Herbert!

Never tried it so I can't say for sure, but in theory it seems that a 75/65 mix would be a little mushy and clash with each other.

definitely not. Neither speaker is mushy. Together they make the perfect speaker combo for me and my 2203. V30's are too honkey for my tastes and adding more mids from the 65 wouldn't do it for me. For me, the 65's add in that extra depth that the 75's are missing and the 75's add the touch of low end.

I have an avatar 2x12 with V30's, and I am using it a mesa .50 caliber + for the old metallica souds, but it is really honky and bright. Would 65's be good with the V30 for a heavy, clear, and not very bright sound? Or would it he better to use 65's and 75's or 65's and 30's? I will be using this for metallica and 80's metal.

Cool! Like I said, never tried it. Probably better for Marshall type gain. I recently tried greenback/H30 mix with a Shiva and it was amazing!

Oh yeah. Definitely talking about Marshall. V30's work for other amps, but not most Marshall's I have tried them with. It's dropping mids on top of mids :)

I got a pair in a FL 2x12 sealed back. I LOVE IT! one RI one vintage form early 80's. Running them into a 100 watt Einstein.

I absolutely LOVE Opiate...especially the live tunes. Killer vid!!!

Not 100% sure, but this is most likely either G12-65's or G12M's.

Are you sure?????
What amp???

That's a Super Lead. More specifically, a Super Bass modified to Lead Spec plus a few other small tweaks.
