Anyone know where to find these anywhere? Been looking but no luck.

I think he is talking about the original g12-80's, not the classic lead 80's. I know they came in some of the mid 80's jcm 800 cabs. Ebay usually has 1 or 2 singles for fair prices.

Not the classic leads etc. They only made them for two years and are specifically called G12-80. Nothing else.

To Danyeo that messaged me. I am new here and frustrated over meeting the 50 posts to reply to your PM so I am messaging you here because I don't know how else to but I would be very interested in that 4x12. How can we talk or can I see pics?

Thanks guys. What are the best search boards for gear?

frustrating I get a PM with someone that could be a sale but I can't msg them

I believe I have a quad of them. I'll try and get you a picture of the back of one to confirm it's the speaker you're looking for.

Cheers,

Sorry -- mine are G12H-80'S -- I think you're looking for the old Celestion Rola G12-80's. Let me know if these are the ones you're looking for.

Damn, I heard great things about these speakers...
I wonder how they sound and/or what's close to it

Did some research and discovered that the Mesa C90 is based off the G12-80 from the 80's and is much closer to that sound than the current CL-80 (even though this was based on the G12-80 as well.
Hope this helps if you can't find any of those.

specifically the 55hz "444" bass cone

How many cones were the G12-80's produced with? Just curious. I have read good things about the G12-80's but never tried any.

Yes, I have 3 G12H80's loaded in a 4x12, they are pretty old and Rola's. I couldn't see anything on the cone, I think I would need to take the speaker out and look in there with a flashlight. Once again, not sure if I need a 4x12 because I'm not playing out and wife is popping out another carpet crawler anyday now it seems.

I'm confused why you can't send a PM captain. Did Brad out a minimum post count on it?

No need to remove speakers. Just pop the back off and the T code will be easily visible, printed on the frame.
