Ceriatone 2204 JCM800 - Hermansson Amplification

[Hermansson Amplification]

I've modded a Ceriatone 2204 JCM800. I have to say the guys at Ceriatone has made a mighty fine job! Super clean work!

Even though it looks very nice and neat there are improvements to be done to the tone and feel.

Most of the preamp is rebuilt and there are some changes done to the power amp and the power supply.
I’ve installed a Punch-control and an LND150 based loop as well.

I'm not using any pedals, guitar straight into the amp.
TC G-major II in the loop for some delays.
Cab: Malmberg 4x12 with old Greenbacks.
Mics: Golden Age R1 mkIII, Tascam DR-40

Holy Shitballs. This 2204 mod is TONE OF THE GODZ. Unbelievable sounding. Geez. You are right up there as a modder let me tell ya, I feel your stuff is consistently right at the top of the best mods out there. Raw, punchy, not overly fizzy or compressed. Love it.

I think you posted a JCM800 mod a few amps back and I thought that one was my favorite at the time. This one has a great voice and sensitivity too. If we lived closer, I'd already have one of your mods.

Thank you all for your kind words and cheering! The customer wanted a dynamic distortion so that was the goal. It's so much fun play an amp that is this responsive to the guitar volume. Since all distortion and dynamics comes from the preamp (no ppimv) the loop works very well and the effects doesn't get distorted from a distorting phase inverter.
