Ceriatone chupacabra 50 amp

meh, didn't think it sounded bad, just not boner inducing. Didn't sound like a Cameron IMO, but was it really supposed to? I'm sure player and personal settings make a big difference too, still anxious to hear what forumites here come up with. I wish he offered it in a kit. :aww:
 
Still can't figure out why this is being compared to a Cameron :confused: As for the clips, I don't think they were recorded that great and don't think it did the amp any justice! Talking to Nik and what his settings were on the amp for the clips, The amp has a lot more to go...I have one coming in soon and am positive the amp will be much more than the clips....

Ehhhh...I don't like many clips of amps I've owned and loved, so not necessarily the best way to shop, at least for me. This thing could be great; who knows?

As far as why people are tossing out the Cameron thing, it's got the switch, and that makes for an easy comparison. Who wouldn't want something easily obtainable (for under a grand) to be the same thing as a damn near unobtainable amp? No big mystery there..... hell, if that turns out to be the case, I'll buy a couple of 'em.

I suppose we'll see soon enough.
 
I dont really have a dog in this fight but I do have a question. Are these circuit designs in these mod'd amps patented? If a Mod guy has a unique design that is highly sought after it seems to me that he would go out of his way to protect it. Also if a guy is really good at amp design and there is a "tone" that is highly sought after it is completely possible that 2 techs come up with the same or similar designs to get the tone.

I'd be willing to bet that will turn out to be true. I have a buddy that has a Ceriatone with a clone of a Nalor superdrive front end that absolutely rips. I think it will end up being much better than those clips. :yes: Listening to them, I bet there was more under the hood ;)
 
Any new developments on these amps? I am curious how they will compare to the much more expensive models.
 
The GNR clips sound pretty damn good. The others, not so much... but I think it's the recording. So yeah. Veryyy innteressting....
 
the manual is up on the website, that explains the controls. Mine ships MONDAY!
