Changed the midi controller chip but when I power up the amp, all the lights are on and the are no sound, what could be wrong?

I'm pretty sure that the chip isn't correctly in its socket with all "legs" getting contact.

All legs were in, tried the old one again and the amp works fine. My reason for changing the chip is that my amp sometimes behaves strange when powering it up. Maybe the new chip is a bad one? Ain't easy to change this chip without bending some legs though...

That is true. And any electrostatic potential will kill it ;)

Tried the new chip again, still the same. Put in the old one and the amp works fortunately :)
I'll contact support for a new chip.

Thanks for your input Olaf, helpful as always!

Big rumour on the internet

Got your email and we will send you a new and
relaxed controller as soon as the post office will
open the doors.

Thank you Peter :)

I wish M*****ll also had this kind of service...
