Has anyone else noticed that you have to constantly adjust the Charvel ProMod necks? For a "reinforced" neck, I swear that I have to adjust my Charvels almost weekly. My Les Pauls get adjusted like twice a year when the weather shifts. I'm glad the Charvel adjustment is at the heel.

The Charvel necks are oil finished which to my hands provides the most comfortable finish available for guitar necks. Oil finish is not going to seal the wood anywhere near as well as the paint on the Gibson necks. Oil finished necks are susceptible to changes in humidity more than a painted neck. I also see you live in Houston.

Yeah, I don't mind adjusting them. I just thought it was interesting that they have reinforcement rods but shift like crazy.

I have 4 charvels san dimas's and pro mods. I used to have to adjust once in spring and once in beginning of winter back when i used to use more neck releif. But now for the last few years i started using very little neck relief and i never adjust the charvels or any of my other guitars. The truss rod is tightened very snug. I am in Montreal so our winters are pretty dry and summers humid but I have a humidy control on the furnace in my house.

You can fit a piece of loose leaf paper roughly under the 6th fret with capo on 1st fret and last fret

I don't know that the graphite rods are supposed to resist any seasonal changes in relief; I think they are mostly to resist the neck developing a twist?

I think they are reinforcement to prevent all the above......twists, seasonal movement, dropping the guitar, string gauge changes etc etc. REINFORCEMENT

Here's some pics of the 2 graphite rods inside the neck of a pro mod i replaced a broken truss rod on.

Lol... not a lot of "reinforcement" going on.

Also, I have a heavy right hand... so I have to have a bit of relief going on.

Yeah i thought the graphite rods would be thicker.
