Whats that on the back of the guitar on the top wing?
Looks like a paint bubble...or is it a piece of foam?

Piece of styrofoam, these were quick iPhone pics for ESP HQ. He just took it out of the original box for the pic.

LOL at the styrofoam looking like a paint blister. When I first saw that, I thought, "Oh no!" and then read your response. Whew.....

The back of the neck looks unpainted but appears to have a deep, shiny, clear lacquer finish. Is that accurate?

i also noticed this, it seems to have the clearcoat on the neck like my greenburst kh2 and kh-20 anniversary model.

I don't know yet as its not to the shop yet, I will post a update when it gets here with better pics. I am told Kirk personally spec'd these two guitars so it is how he asked for it, however it is.

The President of ESP also is sending me a COA confirming it is 1 of 2 built for Kirk and #2 is owned by Kirk.

I sure hope its cool as I paid allot for it.

Wow, I'm not one for sig guitars, but that thing is tits! Are you keeping it for yourself and just putting it on display for attraction or selling it? Once you put that in the market, some collector's gonna grab it and it will NEVER see the light of day. Make sure to sell it to a player, Brad! :D

what! no jokes about how the Ouija makes his fingers play it right?

Kirk's actual stage guitars are sanded necks or at least the ones I have seen and handled. I think Zack Harmon or one of the techs may sand them down after they get them?

I know all of Jeff Hanneman's stage guitars are T serial numbers as well.

One of my guilty-pleasure guitars. Always loved his ouija axes!

From The ESP Board:

Kiso shop and Tokyo shop, both in Japan, as mentioned above, about 150miles apart. Most of the Signature Series custom shop stuff and Original Series stuff tends to be Kiso Shop built from what i've seen, many high end custom orders and artist order guitars are from the Tokyo Shop. Kiso Shop does still handle a load of individual custom orders though.

There is also the Craft House (CH serial, domestic japanese orders) Sado Shop (SO serial, this is mostly for bolt on guitars!) and Technical House (TH serial, domestic japanese orders, insane shizz)

Key point is that rather than compromise on the hand built ethic, and have giant facilities with CNC machines and medicore staff, ESP have multiple work shops and custom shop facilities around Japan, enabling them to spread the high volume of orders across multiple shops, without having to compromise their traditional 'luthier built' custom instruments.

IE, hire/train more luthiers, built more workshops. Rather than compromise and modernize to machinery and automated processes.

No offence is meant towards you Brad, but I wonder how many people actually buy this kind of rubbish. There's no difference between a CNC cut guitar and a hand cut one. Both will end up being finished the same way, which requires manual labor.

I wouldn't pay an extra penny for a 100% handmade guitar over one cut on a CNC.

By the way, beautiful guitar.

mmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMM!! :inlove:
Loving that guitar. Almost to 'pretty' to play... :D

No offense taken Bob, I just cut and pasted that quote from the ESP forum

wonder how much radioactivity that styrofoam retained...yeesh.
awesome looking guitar though!

whats a going rate on something like that? above 5k?

Very nice!

I have a 1 of 3 Randall RM100KH heads that were built for Kirk. 2 went to Kirk and one ended up in the hands of a Randall employee friend. It has a plexi glass Randall logo lit up with purple LED's and a purple jewel light.

I sold all of the stock modules but rock the head all the time with modded modules. I have posted pics a few times but will again if someone wants to see them.

List on the Custom Shop ESP Ouija guitar is $9299 and they street at $6399.

This guitar is much rarer than the Ouija guitar and I think would be very collectable.

If someone offered me the Ouija list price I would most likely sell it for that otherwise I will probably go the eBay route and see what happens.

For the record I paid allot for this guitar as well.

It does come with a letter from the ESP president on ESP Letterhead verifying there are only two in the world and Kirk Hammett owns the other one fyi...
