I use it every time I change strings .... I put a drop or two between each fret ... then rub it in with a sacrificed clean t -shirt ... if it soaks it right up ... apply a second coat ....

if you use to much the fretboard won't absorb it ....
I usually do like a drop between each frets ... rub that in ... wait a few minutes ... repeat .... if you've never used it before on that particular guitar it might take a third light rub in coat ...
worse case scenerio you just wipe it off if it doesn't absorb ...
I have been using Dunlop 6532 as a rosewood conditioner for many years without any problems. GHS Fastfret has also proven itself for cleaning coarse dirt. I then cut the dirty end of the Fastfret with a knife.
