The Epiphone Futura Series is legit and $899

I'm not at all surprised how popular the new Futura Series from Epiphone is. They have listened to us for the features we'd like to see, including compound radius fingerboards and stainless steel frets. I've put two of these new Epiphones through extensive playing time and both were flawless. Flip flop finishes, split parallelogram inlays, new Probucker Ignite pickups, this series is a home run!
And this Firestorm Shift finish is so sick!! Thanks to zZounds for loaning me these cool guitars so that I can share them with you all!

I really love the colors of the futura series but I grew up in the dark days of epiphone and just can't bring myself to spend money on the brand

I've played a couple that were honest to god really decent guitars but I just cant get past it

Idk never had that happen to any current production EPI I've played relatively recently. The Chinese stuff is probably better than Korean stuff and still below current MIJ stuff but not bad all things considered. Relative to 2000s MIK or 80s and 90s MIJ stuff one can say it's as good or ImO better in some regards.


Also these come with the cutaway in the back neck of the heel, SS frets and you get a compound radius on a Les Paul...... That ain't bad especially on these builds given the Standard 50s and 59 models.

I was a "Dark Days of Epi" guy till I pulled the trigger on something they made that I really wanted. . . An Explorer body axe with a FR Trem. I called the CS @ Gibson and it came in at $6.5K! Then I saw the Ghosthorse. OMG . . . What a beautiful guitar. I've been playing now for about 9-10 months and I swear, to this day I can't find one damn thing wrong with it. Very comfortable neck, Rock Solid Neck Through Build, and not a single flaw in the finish. I think Epi is putting out axes that can rival any Gibby out there at 1/3 the price (or less).

They have a white one too with EMGs.....

I've been wanting a Dean ML but shits hard to find now...... An Explorer is the next best option for that tone or Jackson Kelly. LTD makes the Random Star and that's probably an even better option too but yeah in general these Epis are pretty killer for the money.

One thing to note about this series is that they have big frets. Not at all like typical LP frets but with the compound radius and soft C shape the necks don't feel super Gibson-y anyway. I like the change in feel on these but it's not so dramatic that it gets weird.
