Colossal vs Evidence

I have several Colossal and while they sound great I don't like the cable itself for live playing, stiff and coils and constantly needs to be untwisted, pain in the ass...but they sound great. Sorry but haven't tried evidence yet

The colossal sounds much clearer than the Evidence I tried. Sound like someone removed a blanket like in their videos actually. Agree on the stiffness point, but that's true for most high end cables I tried. Perfect for studio and home but maybe also to expensive for live abuse ;-)

Are you referring to their instrument or speaker cables?

I wrote with the post with their instrument cables in mind, but same is true for the speaker cables. I find the difference in the speaker cables less than with their instrument cables but still I do hear a noticeable difference. That's also why I replaced all my instrument cables and only play colossal now but haven't replaced all my speaker cables yet. Might come in the future though...

Stiffness is obviously not important on the speaker cables but the thing is fat and heavy!

Ive been looking at colossal lately. Anyone have experience with the brooklyn?

Weren't they called the Modern Classics?

Try the Vandenhull. I have tried a bunch of cables and to my ear I like it the best. As far as speaker cables I really don't hear any difference as long as you go with a good quality one.

Love the Evidence audio stuff. Never had any issues with my speaker, guitar or pedalboard cables. They all sound and work great.

Yes, that's right! Great cables. I don't understand how they can be so much clearer than other high end cables. But really cool stuff!

Bought the Knaggs Steve Stevens signature guitar about a year ago, and the Knaggs dealer thru in an Evidence "lyric" 20 ft instrument cable as a thank you for doing business. I had been using a Mogami forever and was really very happy with it, that is until I plugged in the evidence cable and let me tell you, I was shocked. I was hearing things I had never heard before. Nuances, clarity....it was like I had bought a new amp. So noticeable was the difference on the clean channel, that I got lost I. It's beauty and chime and ending up going to bed around 3 in the morning. So impressed, I ordered new patch cables for my effects loop ect... And now all my connections are Evidence. Never tried the Colossal stuff. Can only speak of the Evidence Audio and from me, the get two thumbs way up.

Evidence Audio is top quality(i have several lyric hg cables, a couple of siren speaker cables, and even the source power cable) they all make a difference for the better in tone, so 2 massive thumbs up for them....haven't used the colossal, but a user with only 7 posts hyping a product against evidence's stuff which i know is superb sounding, saying the evidence sounded like there was a "blanket in the tone" is very suspect to me!

??? Just because I'm new to this forum, I can't be right or trustworthy? of course you don't have to take my word and actually I haven't said anybody should do anything. I just reported what I do hear (and I have both brands). I tried to be helpful as the OP asked and no one seemed to have experience with both, or bothered to answer.

Actually I also said, that the speaker cables are not making so much difference (while being great and stand next to the VoVox I also use). If you are happy with your cables that's fine. But the "suspect" is a bit over the top, isn't it?

colossal really is an truly open sounding cable with a real size truth to it.....yep, stiffy
